Professional development

Training teachers can use on Monday morning.

Workshops and coaching built around your classrooms, not a slide deck. Your teachers leave with strategies they can try straight away, taught by experienced teachers and trainers.

Eight areas where training changes what happens in the classroom.

Every session is shaped around your school, online or on site, for a whole staff or a single team.

“This training is needed. In every school. For all teachers.”Christina, Early Years Teacher, USA

  1. Assessment for learning

Assessment for learning looks at what students understand and can do during the learning process, not only at the end. We have spent many years helping teachers become genuine collaborators with their learners, which lifts both engagement and achievement.

  2. Classroom management

Effective classroom management is where learning starts, yet so many schools struggle with it. We help teachers run classrooms in ways that put children's emotional wellbeing first while letting the adults keep their cool in challenging moments. A win for everyone. Our training draws on a wide range of techniques grounded in contemporary educational thinking.

  3. Differentiation

Meeting the needs of every learner in the room is one of the hardest parts of teaching. Our approach encourages teachers to become risk-takers, building a repertoire of skills that raises engagement and gives learners more responsibility for their own learning.

  4. Enquiry-based learning

The hum of a purposeful classroom, with students asking questions, chasing answers and taking charge of their own learning: that is enquiry-based learning in action. It gives learning meaning and raises teaching standards, and our consultants have developed whole-school approaches to it in both China and Thailand.

  5. Values-based education

Values-based Education (VbE) answers the call for a balanced, holistic approach by changing a school's philosophy and its approach to learning. We have helped schools embed VbE through whole-school workshops and training.

  6. Play-based learning

Play-based learning has become popular in early years programmes, but building a play environment that is also rich in learning is a real challenge. We help teachers move from more traditional methods to classrooms where children lead their own learning through play and the teacher becomes the facilitator.

  7. Learning in the early years

The first years of school are the foundation for a happy, successful life. We have set up and led early years programmes and a school, and we bring fresh thinking for this age group, from designing the environment and planning phonics to teaching strategies and assessment.

  8. Mindfulness in the classroom

The key to a happy classroom is a happy teacher. Mindfulness is now recognised as a learning strategy that helps children focus and manage their emotions, and helps teachers stay calm and composed when things get difficult. We have led mindfulness training for many years, in schools and beyond.
